​Q: What is the UNSTUCK Method?

​

Dr. Rabia Barkins acts a health navigator to guide you to the right treatment, protocol, health practitioner, or self-help protocol by reviewing and analyzing data to uncover the root causes and remedies. With her training and experience, usually within one session, she can guide you towards options that will help your health and life. 

​

The method uses a combination of functional medicine (working with the underlying cause), lab testing (as needed for specific information), pattern recognition of clients' strengths and weak spots (from years of experience), holistic health (treating the body as a whole), energy medicine using acupressure points and other methods (for reducing stress), exercise, and nutritional coaching. The UNSTUCK Method is unique, incorporating 35+ years of experience in helping thousands of clients, researching to understand the big health picture, connecting the dots, and years of studying at conferences with holistic medical experts.

Q: How do you find the root cause of chronic health or sleep issues?

​

Client history, interviews, questionnaires, and lab tests help identify the root cause of the problem. With skills in pattern recognition, I connect the dots and the big picture is revealed. Recommendations are very specific for the individual. Lab tests and health books only show a small picture of what is happening in the body currently. The Unstuck method focuses right away on what will help the individual, without delay, with a protocol to support wellness.

Q: How long does it take to see a change?

​

Some clients, for example, have results after one 30-minute session where their health or sleep gets back on track, after many years of suffering. Most clients see some change within a few weeks. Chronic health and sleep issues may take longer, depending on the established patterns and their duration. When you can focus on the underlying cause, it's much quicker than doing many lab tests and then doing trial-and-error solutions.

 

For follow- up care, I may recommend 2 follow-up sessions, 2 weeks apart, with tracking to see how you progress during that time. A longer program may be requested, but may not be needed, depending on the chronicity. The approach varies for everyone and is tailored to your needs.

Q: Do you give home recommendations between sessions for health and sleep issues?

​

Yes.  Easy "homework" between sessions helps to speed up the healing process. Most of the time, health or sleep issues have been there for a long time. The longer they are present, the more important it is to do the home recommendations to change unhealthy patterns. Paid consultation fees include recommendations for homework.

The homework may include recommendations for lifestyle changes, supplements, nutritional coaching, or a referral for a specific treatment. Health symptoms such as digestive problems, hormone imbalance, high cholesterol, headaches, fatigue, joint pain, etc., may be a signal for something deeper. The Unstuck method looks at the body holistically to find and solve the root cause of the symptoms.

Q: What unhealthy patterns relate to health and sleep?

​

Some unhealthy patterns (that started long ago) block your ability to make good decisions, block the healing process, keep you stuck with your health or life, and block energy flow in the body. Other patterns relate to procrastination, lack of discipline, addictions, and relationship stress. These patterns can be changed quickly with the Unstuck Method.

 

Repetitive thoughts from worries  (rumination) can keep you stuck or awake at night. The goal is to become UNSTUCK and resilient. You do not have to reveal deep emotions or personal history during any session. This method is not trauma treatment, but the methods helps to release the deep-rooted emotional or physical stresses, and decrease rumination at bedtime.

Q: How are the unhealthy patterns cleared?

​

Gaining increased awareness of these patterns can help change emotional, health, and sleep patterns. Practicing specific daily homework and recommended activities helps to clear the patterns further.

Q: How do I know if I’m improving if my symptoms do not change right away?

​

A proprietary scoring system is used to test at the beginning of treatment and improvement can be tracked. Symptom relief may happen gradually and improve over time. The program does involve some discipline to do the homework daily. Clients who follow the program see the quickest results. Developing discipline may be part of changing the patterns.

Q: What kind of health issues do you evaluate and interpret with personal coaching?

Throughout my 30+ years of working as a clinical nutritionist and doctor, I coached people with diverse health issues. In the past, I specialized in chronic health issues and Lyme coaching. Currently, I support clients with health protocols, health education, and act as a health navigator so they can find the best treatment, holistic/conventional, for their needs.

Q: What is the cost?

​

A: Fees are based on the time and complexity of the health issues. Some clients want health protocols and some want self-help health coaching. During the 20-minute free consultation, all fees will be discussed for your personal situation and needs.
